Overnight Twitter sensation Gerald Stratford got more than he bargained for when his nephew signed him up to social media over lockdown. The perfect place to share his veggie growing tips, little did Gerald know that a post showing off his spuds was about to make him a social media star.

Hiding his phone for the constant pings, Stratfords spuds had gone viral and with his following growing from 96 to 9 thousand in just 48 hours, 72 year old Gerald became the nations favourite gardening grandad.

Picked up by the worlds press, Geralds story has been featured in publications across the USA, Canada and Europe including The New York Times and every major newspaper across the UK; podcast and TV appearances on Gardeners World, James Martins Saturday Morning and as a regular guest on Steph’s Packed Lunch.

A book deal with Headline followed and in September 2021 was the release of ‘Big Veg‘, a handy month by month guide and tips on growing really big veg. Naturally!

But it hasn’t stopped there. Gerald started his modelling career shooting a campaign for Gucci and with a line of gardening clothing for McQueen on the horizon the future is certainly BIG for Gerald.
